Rin Mizumoto is a Lighting Designer based in Southern California. Originally from Japan, she is passionate about collaborating with diverse teams to create meaningful and memorable experiences for audiences worldwide.

Her journey in live entertainment began at the age of eight as a performer. After moving to the United States, she developed a strong interest in the technical side of production, leading her to pursue a B.A. in Theatre Technology at Chapman University. There, she discovered her passion for lighting design and was drawn to its ability to shape atmosphere, emotion, and storytelling.

Since then, Rin has worked in both Japan and the United States. In Japan, she served as a Technical Coordinator and Interpreter for Cirque du Soleil’s Alegría: In A New Light in collaboration with Fuji Television. In Southern California, she has contributed to projects with organizations such as Stories Illuminated Entertainment and Insomniac Events, working across live events, film, and immersive experiences.

She recently earned an MFA in Lighting Design from the University of California, Irvine, and is excited to continue collaborating on a wide range of productions. With a background spanning both the Japanese and American entertainment industries, she values teamwork and innovation, always looking for ways to enhance storytelling through light.
